The Designer's Loft: A Homage to Zanini de Zanine

A Cozy and Functional Space

The Designer's Loft pays tribute to the renowned Brazilian designer, Zanini de Zanine, offering a versatile and inviting living space. With a focus on simplicity and integration, this loft showcases the beauty of natural materials and Brazilian furniture.

Inspired by the Bauhaus school, which celebrates simplicity, the Designer's Loft embraces an industrial style reminiscent of old factories and sheds. The infrastructure, including beams, pillars, and installations, is intentionally exposed, creating a unique aesthetic. The color palette features shades of gray, silver, black, white, and earthy tones, enhancing the loft's modern and sophisticated atmosphere.

One of the standout features of the Designer's Loft is the incorporation of objects and mockups from Zanini's father, the late José Zanine Caldas. This inclusion adds a personal touch and pays homage to the family's design legacy.

The realization of the Designer's Loft prioritized sustainability and authenticity. All materials used are certified green products, ensuring a minimal environmental impact. Demolition wood and natural leather were chosen for their unique textures and eco-friendly properties. The kitchen counter is made of Corian, a durable and versatile material, while the laminated floor adds warmth and elegance to the space. Every personal item in the loft has been thoughtfully selected to complement the overall design.

Designed by Emmilia Dias Cardoso and her team, including Carolina Ayres, Chris Bernardes, and Juliana Rodrigues, the Designer's Loft offers a flexible space that caters to the dweller's various needs. Whether it's finding the perfect spot to relax, work, cook, or entertain friends, this loft provides a harmonious blend of functionality and comfort.

The Designer's Loft was showcased at the 24th edition of Casa Cor Rio de Janeiro, Brazil's largest and most important architecture event. Located in Casa Shopping, the country's largest decoration-specific mall, this loft captivated visitors with its innovative design and attention to detail.

Embracing the challenges of creating an eco-friendly space and maximizing the utilization of available space, the Designer's Loft stands as a testament to the designer's ingenuity. By combining industrial elements with cozy aesthetics, this loft offers a unique sensory experience, inviting residents and guests to unwind, socialize, and appreciate the beauty of design.

The Designer's Loft project commenced in May 2014 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Construction began on October 10th, 2014, and was completed on November 10th, 2014, showcasing the team's efficiency and dedication to bringing this design to life.

This exceptional design has been recognized for its creativity and resourcefulness, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2018. This prestigious accolade honors designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
